City Beautification Graphics Across Canada

Kiosk wraps, utility box art, street banners, and container wraps that turn functional urban infrastructure into community landmarks — printed and installed to withstand Canada’s outdoor conditions.

Large-format outdoor graphics that make public spaces more vibrant, from a single utility box to a district-wide beautification program.

Turning Urban Infrastructure Into Public Art

Municipalities, Business Improvement Associations, and real estate developers across Canada use city beautification programs to animate streetscapes, reduce vandalism, and strengthen community identity. The challenge is execution at outdoor scale: graphics that need to cover curved kiosk panels, irregular utility box surfaces, and multi-sided container structures — all while surviving Canada’s rain, UV exposure, and temperature swings without peeling, fading, or lifting.

TK Graphics has been producing large-format outdoor graphics in Canada since 1993. Our 3M Select Graphics Provider Gold certification covers the substrates and adhesives required for long-term outdoor surface wraps — the same material system used for vehicle wraps and transit advertising. For city beautification projects, that means graphics that stay on the surface and hold their colour through a full Canadian winter and beyond.

— Why Choose TK Graphics

Why Municipalities and BIAs Choose TK Graphics

Four things that matter when graphics need to perform on Canadian streets through rain, UV, and temperature cycling — year after year.

3M Select Graphics Provider — Gold Level

City beautification graphics live outdoors for years, not weeks. TK Graphics holds 3M’s highest regional certification, which covers the vinyl substrates, adhesives, and laminates required for long-term outdoor surface applications. Gold Level status means the material system is rated for durability — not just the print.

Outdoor Durability Engineered into Every Print

BC’s climate is one of the most demanding for outdoor graphics: high rainfall, UV exposure, temperature cycling, and coastal salt air. We specify substrate and laminate combinations based on the surface type, installation environment, and intended program duration — so the graphic performs for as long as the program requires.

Precision Application on Complex Surfaces

Utility boxes are not flat. Kiosks have curved panels, rivets, and ventilation cuts. Storage containers have corrugations. TK Graphics produces graphics with the contour cuts, panel engineering, and application expertise to cover complex outdoor surfaces cleanly — without bubbles, lifts, or misaligned seams.

Program-Scale Production Capability

District-wide beautification programs involve multiple surfaces, multiple designs, and coordinated installation across a geographic area. TK Graphics runs multiple projects simultaneously and delivers to confirmed timelines — so an eight-box utility wrap program installs on schedule, not over three separate mobilizations.

How a City Beautification Project Moves Through Our Shop

Site Survey and Scope

Provide surface types, dimensions, quantities, and installation locations. For complex surfaces (curved kiosks, corrugated containers, multi-panel structures), a site visit or detailed surface drawings help us specify the right substrate and panel engineering before quoting.

Artwork and Approvals

Municipal and BIA projects typically involve multiple stakeholders and approval rounds. We build approval milestones into the project timeline from the start. Artwork files are reviewed for outdoor print requirements — resolution, colour mode, and bleed — before production is scheduled.

Material Specification

Substrate, adhesive, and laminate are specified based on the surface type, outdoor exposure conditions, and program duration. 3M-certified material systems are used for all long-term outdoor applications. We confirm the full material spec with you before production begins.

Production

Graphics are produced on our wide-format equipment — up to 16 feet seamlessly — and finished with the contour cuts, panel seams, and edge treatments required for the target surface. Colour accuracy is checked against the approved proof across the full production run.

Installation

TK Graphics coordinates installation for Canadian projects. For program-scale jobs across multiple sites, we schedule installation in coordinated mobilizations to minimize disruption and ensure consistent application quality across all surfaces.

— Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Lifespan depends on the surface type, substrate specification, and installation environment. For vertical outdoor surfaces with direct UV exposure, 3M-certified vinyl and laminate systems are rated for three to five years under normal conditions. We specify material based on your intended program duration.

Yes. Curved, riveted, and corrugated surfaces require contour-cut panels and surface-specific adhesive systems. We review surface drawings or conduct a site assessment before quoting to confirm the right approach for the specific structure.

Anti-graffiti overlaminate is available and recommended for utility box applications in high-traffic areas. Graffiti can be cleaned from the laminate surface without damaging the printed graphic underneath.

Yes. We regularly produce large-format reproductions of commissioned artwork for public art and beautification programs. Provide the original digital file at the highest available resolution and we will assess it for large-format output before production begins.

Permit coordination is the responsibility of the project owner or installing contractor. TK Graphics handles print production and installation of the graphics themselves. We can provide material specifications and product data sheets to support permit applications where required.
