Street Banners

Street banners are a wonderful way to beautify your city or town. These colorful banners have a real knack for boosting civic pride and promoting cleanliness on streets. They can turn a dull grey day into something a little more vibrant and fun. Many cities, towns and municipalities make use of street banners as part of their city beautification efforts, but did you know it’s not just these entities that use them? That’s right! We have done town flags for many municipalities, but we have also done them for corporations, shopping centres, B.C. Ferries and more!

Traditionally, street banners were made of 21 oz polyurethane vinyl which is very thick vinyl, and reinforced to maintain their shape and structure without tearing or stretching. This material is waterproof to maintain the  life of your colours and print design. This product is durable, and depending on the elements it will be exposed to, can last up to 3 years.

Nowadays, town flags are produced more often with a nylon fabric. Heavy vinyl is more commonly reserved for high-wind areas, to withstand the weather. Nylon fabric is not strong enough for high-wind areas, but city streets most commonly use this material. The brand of fabric we use for our street banners is called Dacron and is made from a polyester fiber. Dacron is the most economical option for street banners. These banners are meant to last from 6 months to a year.

We also offer a green option for your street banners, with a fully supported recycling program. EcoWork2 is a durable flag fabric made from 100% recycled water bottles, has a smooth textured finish and has been treated for flammability. The best thing though, about this green option for town flags, is that once you are done with them, you can send them back to us and for a minimal shipping fee, we can have it sent back to the manufacturer to be recycled into other products such as carpet liners. This material is the perfect option for those cities, towns, municipalities and organizations that are actively trying to reduce their carbon footprint.

The method to print on all of these materials is call dye sublimation, which uses heat to transfer colour onto the material. The inks are never in a liquid state and thus, bleeding is avoided. We utilize DuPont ink for this process, which is considered the best fabric ink in the world.  This ink has enabled us to work in brilliant color.

Hems can be added to your town flags to reinforce the banner’s structure and shape. We are also able to add grommets to your street banners, should you need to hang them with rope or other types of fasteners. Most street banners are manufactured with pole pockets, however, to fit over flag-specific hardware.

The vinyl option for town flags can be produced as double-sided banners with either different images on each side or the same images on each side. The fabric option is printed single-sided but the ink bleeds through so it appears double-sided.
